Fellowship
We believe, as stated in our confession, that as “saints…united to Jesus Christ” we are “united to one another in love,” and therefore we “enjoy fellowship in the gifts and graces of one another” (Chpt. 27, Par. 1). We joyfully take the opportunity to gather for fellowship meals after services on the first and third Sundays of the month, while being encouraged to consider extending hospitality in our own homes on any fifth Sundays. On the second Sunday afternoon of every month, we meet at a member’s home for prayer and fellowship. Besides these regularly scheduled monthly events, there are occasional gatherings, such as quarterly men’s breakfasts, “crafty creations” craft evenings for ladies, and “family fun nights” which take place less regularly.
Members are also exhorted to engage in hospitality among ourselves, as well as reaching out to the community in Christ’s name. This can be seen in organized ways through bringing food to new mothers or sick members or others we know of throughout the community. On any given Sunday, this can also be seen in friends making plans for the week. All of this activity is done in Christ’s name and for His glory as we seek to love one another.
